28th Aug. Chishui back to Chengdu

Aug.28,2005

Chishui is the home for bamboo and there are full of bamboos. The life of the local people there depends on bamboo. They build their houses in bamboo, and the furnitures and for sure the handcrafts.

Walking along the small street in Chishui City, I was asked to take pictures for some old woman and her granddaughter. When I finished and showed them the picture, someone asked me to take pictures for her. She told me she never took any pictures in her life and she was 73 years old now. Then I told her I could send her if she wanted. But she felt very hesitated because it would cost me. So she asked me if it was expensive and still didn’t want to give me this trouble. But from her expression, it was that she wanted to see her face in these pictures. It was her neighbour who wrote down the mail address and gave it to me.

I am sure how happy she will be while seeing herself in the pictures for the first time of her seventy-three years.
